Thanks Boyd for posting that, I love that tool. My school district was in the mid 70's for the percentage of caucasians when I went there and is now closer to the mid 30's. It must be a very different school by now. I'm not sure what this means for the school. Umm we did have a little bit of gang activity then, but I imagine by now it has exploded.
ReplyDeleteI believe racial tension is becoming a huge issue on these campuses. San Bernardino which has been typically African American (Caucasian 70 years before that) is now becoming increasingly Latino. The tension between these groups and fights and such has exploded. That's where I am concerned it will effect the classroom. I'm wondering if we are seeing this tension here in Utah?
Yep, we are mostly Caucasian around here. I didn't realize that the Latino presence was at 11%. That's interesting. I understand there is quite a representation from the Dominican Republic.
